Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeño Shrimp Bites
These bites hit every note ...smoky bacon, sweet heat from jalapeños, and juicy shrimp, all wrapped up in one irresistible appetizer. I love making these to bring to a friends house as a party appetizer (especially for football parties)!
Bake or grill them for a crowd-pleasing starter at your next game day or dinner party, then serve hot on their own or spooned over rice.
Prep time: 15 minutes | Cook time: 20 minutes | Yields: about 16–20 bites
Ingredients
- 1 lb large or jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 8–10 slices bacon, cut in half
- Hot sweet jalapeños, sliced (Mount Olive Brand), about 16–20 slices
- Toothpicks, soaked in water for 10 minutes (prevents burning if grilling)
Instructions
1. Prep the Shrimp
Rinse the shrimp and pat dry with a paper towel.
2. Add the Jalapeños
Place one slice of jalapeño on top of each shrimp.
3. Wrap with Bacon
Wrap the shrimp and jalapeño with half a slice of bacon, then secure with a toothpick.
4. Cook
Oven: Arrange bites on a baking sheet with a wire rack, if you have one, so the bacon crisps evenly. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes, until the bacon is fully cooked and golden.
Grill: Cook over medium heat for 10–12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the bacon is crisp and the shrimp is opaque.
5. Serve
Serve hot as an appetizer, or spoon over rice for a light main.
Bon appétit!
With love, Kristen
